Electrical Steel Coil Slitting

Magnitosila provides longitudinal slitting of customer-supplied electrical-steel coils into strip. The service is used by manufacturers of magnetic cores, transformers and reactors, and by industrial companies that require stable strip geometry for further processing.

Longitudinal slitting produces sub-coils of the required width, reduces time in subsequent operations and lowers the risk of rejects during cross-cutting or magnetic-core assembly.

Equipment capabilities

• electrical-steel slitting for thicknesses up to 0.5 mm;
• processing of NV30S-120, NV30S-130, T111-30S, T130-30S, M400 and similar grades;
• parent coil width up to 1,250 mm;
• parent coil weight up to 5 tonnes;
• edge burr no greater than 20 microns;
• strip-width deviation no greater than 0.1 mm.

Quality control

During slitting, we monitor strip width, edge condition, winding consistency and compliance with the order requirements. This is particularly important for electrical steel, where edge quality and stable geometry directly affect further assembly and magnetic-core losses.
