STEP-LAP Magnetic Core Laminations
Magnetic core laminations with STEP-LAP joint geometry for transformer manufacturing.
Technology and delivery
Description
STEP-LAP magnetic core laminations are a set of laminations with stepped-joint geometry, prepared for the customer's own magnetic-core assembly process.
STEP-LAP technology reduces no-load losses and noise compared with a conventional butt or combined joint. It is particularly relevant for power and distribution transformers rated above 160 kVA.
What the customer receives
- a set of magnetic-core laminations to the agreed geometry;
- electrical-steel cutting with the specified STEP-LAP parameters;
- laminations stacked in bundles or in a format convenient for the assembly department;
- marked, secured and palletised sets;
- repeatable geometry for serial production.
When lamination supply is beneficial
This format is suitable for manufacturers with their own magnetic-core assembly department, specialised equipment, tooling and qualified personnel. The customer receives ready-cut laminations while retaining control of final assembly.
Technical parameters
The steel grade, lamination width, joint pattern, number of STEP-LAP steps, stacking sequence, securing and packing requirements are produced to customer drawings and technical specifications.
