Technology and delivery
Description
Combined-joint magnetic core laminations are a set of laminations for assembling a core with a conventional joint arrangement. This format is used where transformer design, cost requirements or the customer's equipment call for a butt or combined joint.
Compared with STEP-LAP, this technology is simpler to assemble but usually results in higher no-load losses. The joint arrangement is therefore selected with regard to the transformer's purpose, project requirements and commercial feasibility.
Typical applications
- transformer manufacturing to existing design documentation;
- special-purpose, furnace and induction transformers;
- repair and refurbishment projects where the original geometry must be replicated;
- lamination supply for customers with their own magnetic-core assembly department.
Supply format
Laminations are supplied as sets, stacked in bundles on pallets. The steel grade, lamination geometry, joint pattern, stacking sequence, marking and securing are produced to customer drawings and technical specifications.
Key information to agree
The order should define the steel requirements, thickness, lamination width, cutting accuracy, set completeness and packing. This ensures repeatable assembly and reduces the risk of errors at the customer's facility.
